Dear all - this is a general question. Please respond directly to me at llou@midway.uchicago.edu and I’ll summarize the responses for the list.
What resources do y’all use to find out about current developments or issues in international law ? To discover topics to write about. Any particular newsletters, newsfeeds, blogs, websites, listservs, news clipping services, etc. ? I’m interested in any sources in any language, but particularly if they are daily or weekly and customized for international law-related topics. And news that arrives via e-mail in your inbox everyday that’s relevant to your work. Any particular databases, free or fee ? What useful resources for international lawyers, faculty, students that they can use for current awareness and for ideas for scholarly writing ?
Harvard Law Library has an "International Law News" page at http://www.law.harvard.edu/library/... Which ones of the resources listed there do y’all find the most useful ? Any other sources ?
I know that the American Society of International Law has an "International Law in the News" page : ttp://www.asil.org/inthenews/index.html
I also know you can use BNA e-alerts for news re developments in International Trade, the WTO, and international business generally.
LexisNexis and WESTLAW have clipping service features - which library/files and databases do you find the most useful ? Any standard search you run daily or weekely for useful international law or international relations news ?
There are also two newsletters, International Law Update (http://www.internationallawupdate.com/) and International Enforcement Law Reporter (monthly)(http://www.ielr.com/).
I’ve essayed this before, but need to update the info : http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/~llou/f...
And Jill Watson includes useful resources in her "Keeping Current with International Legal Developments via the Web" at http://www.llrx.com/features/keeping.htm
Please send your suggestions for keeping up with international law developments to me and I’ll summarize the responses for the list.
Thanks ! Lyo.
